Six-Pillar Validation
Identifying the intended target is only the first requirement. An antibody also has to show high sensitivity with minimal cross-reactivity. Bethyl tests specificity against paired antibodies raised to distinct epitopes on the same protein, rather than trusting a single antibody's result.
Specificity has to hold in immunoprecipitation or Western blot before an antibody moves on to testing in immunohistochemistry, immunocytochemistry, ChIP, or proximity ligation assay.
Bethyl serves to advance science by developing highly-qualified antibodies, including many to emerging and underserved protein targets.
Custom Antibody Development
Bethyl built custom antibody programs for decades, complete packages spanning peptide synthesis through affinity purification against an antigen-specific immunosorbent.
See All Our ServicesMembrane proteins, ion channels, and other structurally difficult epitopes often call for a different discovery method, VHH single-domain antibodies.
